Appreciating how the conditions of the rooms had dilapidated the Master and Fellows of Jesus College commissioned a complete appraisal of the Chapter House both in terms of it’s current use and that for which it was originally intended – the majority of the rooms had fallen into disrepair with many artefacts concealed behind layers of timber boarding and crude panelling; to the extreme, the “Music Room” had actually been converted into a Plant Room.

The Design Team were tasked to refurbish the rooms in a manner sympathetic to their Grade I listed status; accepting the politically sensitive nature of the project the team adopted a methodical design approach with the utmost attention given to detail, thus ensuring that the works on site proceeded as expediently as possible with the least inconvenience to the College’s daily routine. The rooms have successfully been converted back to their original grandeur, with a modern twist utilising clean and light materials to bring a fresh and invigorating ambiance to the space.

• A combination of conventional radiators and LPHW underfloor heating installed below solid oak flooring.
• Supply and extract ventilation systems
• Domestic H&C water services to the Cloak Room and
• WC facilities.
• Automatic Control Systems

• Aesthetic “scene” and task lighting
• Electrical small power
• CCTV and security systems
• Fire alarm installation.
